About the Book:

"Jean qui grogne et Jean qui rit" is a children's
novel by the French author Comtesse
de Ségur, first published in 1863. Part of her
extensive children's literature, this story
follows two cousins: Jean who grumbles
and Jean who laughs, showcasing their contrasting
personalities. "Jean qui grogne"
embodies pessimism and complaint, while
"Jean qui rit" exudes cheerfulness and positivity.
Comtesse de Ségur uses their interactions
to teach valuable lessons about maintaining
a positive outlook, finding joy, and
how attitude impacts relationships and happiness.
This timeless tale remains beloved by
young readers for its endearing narrative.
This copy of "Jean qui grogne et Jean qui
rit” was printed in 1920 France and transformed
into a new piece of artwork by Book
Birdies in 2023.

  • Turnaround Time

Our turnaround times vary depending on how busy we are, but please prepare for about 3-7 business days for production. We do not have rush options at this time.

  • Artwork Tips

For best results, upload pictures with at least 150 DPI or set the art board to the size you'd like it to print before designing the piece. Art can always be scaled down, but scaling up may result in a pixelated image! Pictures taken with a phone usually have a lower DPI, so we recommend printing at 8.5" x 11" or smaller to ensure they print well.
